Top GCC Setup Partners in India (2026): Which Fits Your Company Size

GCC setup partners in India compared by company size and model: build-operate-transfer, managed GCC, advisory and engineering-led pods, with costs and a buyer checklist.

Short answer: the right GCC partner in India depends on your size. Fortune 500 companies setting up centres of hundreds of people usually work with ANSR, Zinnov or a Big Four firm. Mid-market technology companies that want 5 to 100 engineers working in weeks are better served by an engineering-led partner such as Appmetry, which can run a pilot pod and later transfer it to you. Embark and Wisemonk sit in between with managed and employer-of-record models.

Disclosure: Appmetry publishes this list and appears in it. We are an engineering company, not a large GCC operator, and we say plainly below where others are the better choice. Sources are at the end.

How we grouped the partners

GCC "partners" do very different jobs, so we grouped them by model rather than ranking them on one scale:

  1. Engineering-led pods and BOT. The partner hires and runs an engineering team for you from day one, then transfers it.
  2. Managed GCC operators. The partner runs entity, workspace, payroll and compliance at scale while you run the work.
  3. Advisory firms. The partner builds the business case, picks the city and designs the operating model; you or another partner execute.

1. Appmetry: best for mid-market engineering GCCs

Appmetry Technologies runs engineering pods from Chennai for US and global companies, led by Ketan Jain, former VP of Engineering at Poshmark, who built its backend organisation from about 10 people through IPO. We start with a pilot pod of 5 to 10 engineers under our entity, running your roadmap in your tools, and move to build-operate-transfer once the team is proven.

  • Why choose it: you get senior engineering leadership and delivery from week one, not just an office and payroll. Strong in AI agents, mobile, web and enterprise systems.
  • Next step: read our GCC setup guide or book a discovery call.
  • Less suited to: centres of several hundred people across finance, HR and operations from day one. ANSR or a Big Four firm fits that better.

2. ANSR: best for large enterprise GCCs

ANSR is a Bengaluru-based GCC specialist that reports helping set up more than 200 GCCs. Accenture took a 23 percent stake in 2024 and the two firms jointly offer GCC services. ANSR has been rated a Leader in Everest Group's GCC setup assessment and in the 2026 ISG Provider Lens for GCC services.

  • Best for: large companies planning centres of hundreds of people across many functions.
  • Watch for: smaller mid-market centres may not get senior attention.

3. Zinnov: best for strategy and business case

Zinnov, founded in 2002, is a management consulting firm that reports advising 250+ Fortune 500 companies and helping establish and transform 220+ GCCs. Its services cover business case and ROI modelling, city and talent assessment, legal setup and ongoing managed operations.

  • Best for: boards that need an independent business case and location study before committing.
  • Watch for: pair it with an execution partner if you need engineers working quickly.

The Big Four advise on entity structure, transfer pricing, tax incentives and regulatory compliance, which matters most for banks, insurers and listed companies.

  • Best for: regulated enterprises where tax and compliance risk outweigh speed.
  • Watch for: advisory fees are high, and engineering delivery usually sits with someone else.

5. Embark: best for a managed setup

Embark says it was named a Major Contender in Everest Group's 2026 PEAK Matrix assessment of GCC setup capabilities in India, and offers managed GCC setup.

  • Best for: companies that want one partner to handle setup and operations without building their own HR and facilities team.

6. Wisemonk: best for hiring before an entity exists

Wisemonk offers employer-of-record and GCC setup services and publishes guides on build-operate-transfer.

  • Best for: small teams that want to employ people in India before forming a local entity.
  • Watch for: employer-of-record covers employment, not engineering leadership or delivery.

What a GCC in India costs in 2026

  • Per engineer: about $25,000 to $80,000 a year fully loaded, 40 to 60 percent below the US.
  • Captive setup: one-time costs are commonly put at $200,000 to $500,000.
  • Build-operate-transfer: large providers quote roughly $0.3M to $2M over an 18 to 24 month term.

How to choose: a checklist

  • Match the partner to your size. A 20-person engineering centre and a 500-person shared-services centre need different partners.
  • Decide who leads engineering. If you need delivery from week one, pick a partner with senior engineers, not only HR and facilities.
  • Read the transfer terms. For BOT, agree the transfer fee, IP ownership and employee migration before signing.
  • Check the city. Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune and Bengaluru all have deep talent; Tier-2 cities cost less but have smaller senior pools.
  • Start with a pilot. A 3 to 6 month pod tells you more about fit than any proposal.

Frequently asked questions

Who are the top GCC setup partners in India?

For large enterprises, ANSR, Zinnov and the Big Four (EY, Deloitte, PwC) lead GCC setup and advisory. For mid-market technology companies that want an engineering team running in weeks, engineering-led partners such as Appmetry run pilot pods and build-operate-transfer programs. Embark and Wisemonk also offer managed and employer-of-record GCC models.

What does a GCC in India cost?

A fully loaded engineer in an India GCC typically costs $25,000 to $80,000 a year, 40 to 60 percent below the US. One-time captive setup costs are commonly put at $200,000 to $500,000. An engineering-led pilot pod, such as Appmetry runs, avoids most of that upfront cost.

What is the difference between BOT and a managed GCC?

In build-operate-transfer, a partner sets up and runs the centre and then transfers the entity and people to you, usually after 18 to 24 months. In a managed GCC, the partner keeps running payroll, compliance and facilities while you own the work and direct the team.

Can a mid-size company set up a GCC in India?

Yes. Mid-market companies are the fastest-growing group setting up GCCs, typically starting with 10 to 50 people. Starting with a partner-run pod avoids entity and office costs until the model is proven.
